Howdy Y’all, quick question about a Drum Buss Technique. Is it odd to place a Limiter on your Drum Buss Track? I have my Drum Buss Channel Strip with a compressor doing some decent compression and was curious what a Limiter would do after words? I put one on and I actually loved the way they were sounding but didn’t kno if I would run into any issues down the line? Also wanted to note the Limiter is doing just enough to where there is some glue and has good dynamic range but not totally smashed.

I use a limiter on the drum bus often, generally with subtle limiting to add a little knock.

I’m not and expert on the matter, but my first thought is that it might not be a good idea. The reason is the hi hat and cymbals. From what I know limiters do more damage than good with cymbals and hi hats, as it messes with the decay.
