Hey everyone, how do you choose the kick to fit with your track and the vocal. Thank you
I don’t really think of the vocal when designing a kick. I DO think of the Bass/Sub/Low End when working with a kick. I make a decision as to what sound is going to occupy the low / sub frequencies. If it is not the kick then the kick I design is going to have little to no sub information. If the kick is going to be the lowest in the spectrum I can add more sub information.
I think of the genre and what the kick typically sounds like within that genre. I use Kick 2 and design a kick that will work within that genre but will fit my tastes.
