It is no longer a secret that mono mixes are often the way to go because it translates the best on any audio system. But certain genres are harder than others to mix in mono.
I myself am a fan of wide detuned saw synths with complex chords and multi-layering. I’ve been struggling with achieving a great mix with these types of synths. My go-to method is to duplicate the said synths and reduce the stereo field to 0. This doesn’t always give me the same sound as what I had before duplicating.
Are there any other known methods to get crisp and clear sounding synths which are wide and detuned in mono?
Thanks!
